Once your goals are set and Matt understands your specific background and level of experience, he will develop a Learning and Development Plan tailored for you.

Once per fortnight, Matt will meet with you in the virtual class room to review your progress, clarify any questions and provide specific coaching on areas identified in your 6-Month Learning and Development Plan.
Every session will end with an action plan for the fortnight ahead. This method ensures accountability to maximise outcomes.
These sessions typically take place on evenings or early mornings, outside normal business hours unless agreed otherwise. Saturday morning sessions are available as well.

“Mentoring is a relationship which gives people the opportunity to share their professional and personal skills and experiences, and to grow and develop in the process. Typically, it is a one-on-one relationship between a more experienced and a less experienced person. It is based upon encouragement, constructive comments, openness, mutual trust, respect and a willingness to learn and share.” – Spencer C., 1996 Mentoring made easy.
A project management mentorship is worth your time and money because it can help you fast-track your career development.
With a mentor, you can gain a deeper understanding of the discipline and learn invaluable skills that may otherwise take years to acquire. Not only is this great for career advancement, but it also encourages accountability and provides an opportunity for networking and collaboration.
Moreover, a mentor will provide hands-on advice and support to help you reach your professional goals more quickly. In short, a project management mentorship is an essential way to further your career in the field.
WHY IT WORKS
Powerful things happen when a respected experienced person shows interest in and goes out of his / her way to help another individual develop, especially when that individual is open to being influenced.
First, we do most of our learning from observing successful and unsuccessful models. In other words, we watch people’s actions, see what happens to them, and then imitate (or avoid) similar actions ourselves.
Second, we respond well to positive reinforcement from certain people. That is, we learn faster and more effectively when we receive positive feedback from someone we respect.
Third, we learn best not only from positive reinforcement but also from having “mastery experiences.” That means we leap ahead in our learning if we master something difficult.
Mentoring at its best incorporates these three factors. Good mentors allow themselves to be observed, and effective mentees make a point of watching and questioning them.
Finally, mentoring partnerships in which the mentees set difficult yet achievable goals and master difficult challenges not only learn a tremendous amount, but build their self confidence in the process.
IN SUMMARY YOU CAN EXPECT
Our mentoring program has no set agenda and it will focus on helping you reach your individual objectives. Some participants may wish to hone their technical skills in areas such as contract administration or construction management, while others may choose to focus solely on developing leadership capabilities. During our first session, we’ll discuss your preferences and goals and create a learning plan tailored to your needs.
The Mentorship Program expects participants to be active and engaged in meaningful conversations with the mentor. This includes participating in discussion forums, attending group meetings, and connecting with other mentors and mentees. The program also requires that participants commit to a certain number of hours of work each month. This will help ensure you are making progress during the program, as well as provide an opportunity for growth and development. The hours may vary depending on your individual goals and objectives, but typically range from 6-15 hours per month. Participants are also expected to complete any assignments or tasks set by their mentor in a timely manner. Ultimately, it is up to each participant to take initiative to ensure they get the most out of the program!
Your mentor is committed to helping you reach your goals and achieve success! They will provide advice, guidance, and support throughout the duration of the Mentorship Program. Your mentor will also help you develop new skills and knowledge which will aid in your professional growth. Additionally, your mentor may provide resources such as contacts, books, or articles to further enhance your understanding. Finally, your mentor will offer feedback on your work and provide constructive criticism to help you stay focused and on track.
Mentoring provides an additional layer of support and guidance that is not possible with self-study. Mentors provide a personalised learning experience tailored to your individual needs, strengths, and weaknesses. They provide advice that can help point you in the right direction and mediate any misunderstandings or issues you may have throughout the course of the program. Additionally, mentors are able to offer constructive feedback on projects and provide new resources to supplement your ongoing learning. Self-study often fails to provide such a comprehensive service.
